Dr. Yijian Zeng Bio:
Dr. Yijian Zeng is an Associate Professor in Soil-Plant Digital Twin, ITC Faculty, University of Twente. He is currently the co-chair of International Soil Modelling Consortium, and serves as GEWEX-GLASS panel member, and co-leads the ISMC-GEWEX SoilWat Initiative. His research focuses on monitoring and forecasting ecosystem drought responses via a digital-twin framework that seamlessly integrates process-based models, Earth observation data, data assimilation, and physics-informed machine learning. As one of the lead developers for the unified multi-frequency forward-observation simulator (STEMMUS-SCOPE and CLAP). He probes land-surface water, energy, and carbon fluxes and their signatures across VNIR-SWIR-TIR-MW spectral domains. This simulator has been deployed in several PI/Co-I projects (WUNDER, EcoExtreML, iAqueduct, Minerva, NWO-NSO Kennisnetwerk-Water, PCP-WISE).
