The GEO Cold Regions Initiative (GEOCRI) has co-organized a high-level thematic session at the 2026 UNECE Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, alongside Imperial College London and leading UN and international partners.
The session, Digital on the Edge: Accelerating Digital Technology Readiness for the 2030 Agenda in Climate Extremes, brought together global stakeholders to advance digital, AI, and Earth Intelligence solutions for climate action and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Looking ahead, GEOCRI cordially invites the global Earth observation community to the 2026 GEO Symposium and GEO-21 Plenary, taking place 26–28 May 2026 at WMO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Under the theme Investing in Earth Intelligence for a Resilient Future, the event will guide the implementation of GEO’s Post-2025 Strategy.
During the symposium, GEOCRI will host an official side event focused on High Quality Analysis-Ready Data - the foundation of the Earth Intelligence in Cryosphere operations, advancing cold regions Earth observation science and operational applications worldwide.
